It has been said that personal hygiene has nothing to do with the apparition of scabies, because people of any condition, age and race may suffer from it. Every year occur million cases worldwide and for 2,500 years the scabies have affected people.

Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis (Hering) or Human Itch mite or Scabies itch mite is the small round body insect with eight legs that causes a highly skin condition named scabies. The female mite lays eggs in the burrows made under the skin where she finds odor and warmth, those produce secretions that cause itching and allergic reaction.

The larvae stand on the surface, after leaving the egg, and produce secretions. The female produce almost three eggs daily for five weeks, so the cycle is continuing. Because the itchy appears predominantly during the night, it may cause insomnia. The mite’s secretions, eggs and feces are very irritating for the skin and the skin responds with redness and inflamation.
